JOB DESCRIPTION
What will I be doing?
In your role as a Director of Corporate Development and Strategy you will be:
• Leading teams in analyzing new business venture opportunities and strategy projects, including acquisitions, joint ventures, alliances, divestitures, business reorganization, process improvements, etc.  
• Partnering with all primary functional areas of the organization, including finance, marketing, sales, supply chain, and legal.
• Coordinating efforts with external investment bankers, accountants, and consultants
• Perform valuations (DCF, multiples, alternatives analysis, etc.) of target companies and make recommendations on valuation and deal terms.
• Leading the preparation and delivery of presentations to executive management;
• Setting negotiation agendas and lead or participate as an integral part of the negotiation team;
• Working with C-Level Management (areas, functions, etc.) to assist with the development and execution of the strategy projects.

• Ability to develop internal and external growth strategies, including analyzing new markets and competitors and analyzing internal strengths and weaknesses.

• Coordinates with the Supplier's Quality Management department to ensure supplier base is operating in support of food safety and consumer complaint reduction strategies.

• Provides technical support for quality training in manufacturing facilities as well as the development of technical training in the area of HACCP, Microbiological, Allergen Control, Sanitation, Pest Control, etc. as required.

• Corresponds with plant personnel to investigate customer and consumer issues including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.

• Provides professionally acceptable written resolution to satisfy customer expectations regarding customer and consumer concerns.

• Develops a professional relationship with the Quality & Food Safety representatives of key customer accounts and supports visits as requested by Sales.

• Supports manufacturing facilities during Regulatory, Customer and 3rd Party audits and assist in corrective actions as necessary. Insures non-compliance elements are addressed in the annual capital plans.

Other duties/assignments as requested by the Senior Leadership team.

• Vice President level position supporting 3 U.S. and 1 Canadian manufacturing site.

Responsibilities

The person who accepts this position is responsible for providing humane care to all laboratory animals and will perform assigned technical and administrative functions within the guidelines and requirements outlined in a protocol or appropriate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), thus producing sound, reliable data from which to evaluate the efficacy or toxicity of a test compound.

Duties and Responsibilities (the purpose of the function and result to be accomplished) include but are not limited to:

• Performs basic husbandry functions daily (i.e., feeding/watering, monitoring health).

• Carefully handles animals to prevent injury to technician or animal.

• Administers test article daily via such routes as bolus intravenous injection, subcutaneous injection, oral gavage, and intravenous infusion.

• Collects and documents data daily on an electronic data capture system or appropriate form(s).
• Performs functions used to evaluate the toxicity of the test article (i.e., electrocardiograms, blood pressure measurements, detailed clinical observations, body weight measurements).

• Collects samples periodically (i.e., blood, feces, urine).

• Punctual and reliable attendance according to MPI Research company policy.

• Working with line manager to ensure that invoices and payments are made according to agreed timing and milestones and that all contractual obligations are met in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• DVM or PhD and MBA required

Two advanced degrees preferred.

Experience

• Partnership development experience in the pharmaceutical, biological and/or biotech sectors required.

• Practical experience and knowledge of the animal health business, particularly the Companion Animal business is preferred.

• Experience with technology assessment, alliances and acquisitions is preferred.

• Experience in negotiating contracts with third parties is preferred.

• A detailed understanding of research planning, experimental design, budget and contract management is essential, as well as strong strategic thinking.
