The person who is hired for this position will collaborate with people from several different areas of the business.

The person hired will engage with the company as he or she leads the analysis, negotiation, coordination, and integration of acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and alliances around the world. They also will facilitate the development and execution of external growth opportunities for a company that delights the world through foods and brands that matter.

JOB DESCRIPTION
What will I be doing?
In your role as a Director of Corporate Development and Strategy you will be:
• Leading teams in analyzing new business venture opportunities and strategy projects, including acquisitions, joint ventures, alliances, divestitures, business reorganization, process improvements, etc.  
• Partnering with all primary functional areas of the organization, including finance, marketing, sales, supply chain, and legal.
• Coordinating efforts with external investment bankers, accountants, and consultants
• Perform valuations (DCF, multiples, alternatives analysis, etc.) of target companies and make recommendations on valuation and deal terms.
• Leading the preparation and delivery of presentations to executive management;
• Setting negotiation agendas and lead or participate as an integral part of the negotiation team;
• Working with C-Level Management (areas, functions, etc.) to assist with the development and execution of the strategy projects.

As well as a hunger to learn and succeed in Corporate Development an Strategy to be considered for this position you must be able to meet the following requirements:

Required:
• Proven business experience of assisting global organization(s) with multiple successful acquisitions or joint ventures.
• Superior analytical abilities.
• Superior Excel and Power point skills.
• Candidate based in Michigan with 20-30 percent Travel.
• Firm grasp and working knowledge of the latest in financial and valuation theory.
• Ability to identify and address cross-functional issues that may be relevant to completing or implementing acquisitions and alliances.
• Ability to develop internal and external growth strategies, including analyzing new markets and competitors and analyzing internal strengths and weaknesses.
• Ability to lead cross functional team in corporate strategy projects.
• Superior presentation and communication skills.
• Strong team skills.
• Strong track record of either corporate development experience or consulting experience within a major consulting firm that included acquisition projects. additional operating experience a plus;

Preferred:
• MBA from a top-tier business school, graduating in the top quartile of the class;
• Consumer industry experience
• Additional operating experience

Pfizer is seeking a Director of Global Alliances, DVM, for Companion Animal Health to be located in Kalamazoo, Mich. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

This selected individual will be the primary Global Alliances lead, supporting Pfizer Animal Health’s (PAH) Companion Animal franchise in the U.S. The person who assumes this position will:

• Work closely with the Global Alliances team, U.S. Area President, his leadership team and broader organization plus Veterinary Medicine Research and Development (VMRD), to develop and implement Global Alliances strategies for Companion Animal including developing and implementing innovative strategies to facilitate growth, such as  initiation and running of research consortia focused on issues impacting the health and/or production of Companion Animal species.

• Participate as a member of a variety of Companion Animal focused leadership teams in developing new strategies for developing PAH’s global Companion Animal franchise.

• Work in close coordination with VMRD, PAH’s regional operations and New Product Marketing.

• Identify, establish, build, negotiate and progress suitable alliance opportunities for Companion Animal with academia, research institutes, government, non government and industry organizations globally in collaboration with Veterinary Medicine Research and Development (VMRD) and Commercial Operations.

• Manage and provide regular and timely input on activities impacting the global budget.

• Collaborate with colleagues to share information on opportunities and activities with inter-regional or global relevance, or both.

• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, VMRD, Marketing and Commercial Operations.


The primary duties will include:

• Identifying, building, reviewing, negotiating and assessing alliance opportunities, in collaboration with VMRD Marketing and Commercial Operations, across all business lines -- biologicals, pharmaceuticals and services.

•  Managing global Companion Animal focused alliances to the benefit of regional and global business objectives and supporting the Global PAH  (Pfizer Animal Health) Business through collaborative partnerships with academic experts, research institutes and regional government and non government agencies.

• Working with line manager to ensure that invoices and payments are made according to agreed timing and milestones and that all contractual obligations are met in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• DVM or PhD and MBA required

Two advanced degrees preferred.

Experience

• Partnership development experience in the pharmaceutical, biological and/or biotech sectors required.

• Practical experience and knowledge of the animal health business, particularly the Companion Animal business is preferred.

• Experience with technology assessment, alliances and acquisitions is preferred.

• Experience in negotiating contracts with third parties is preferred.

• A detailed understanding of research planning, experimental design, budget and contract management is essential, as well as strong strategic thinking.

• The demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong internal and external networks, collaborations and business relationships is essential.

Position Summary

The Global Food Protection Institute (GFPI) is seeking a Director of Corporate Relations and Sponsorships on a full-time basis. This position reports to Vice President of External Affairs and works closely with the President and CEO. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive corporate gifts program to benefit GFPI; securing corporate sponsorship and seeking in-kind donations, such as travel and hotel accommodations, for the GFPI training events. The Director of Corporate Relations and Sponsorships is responsible for managing and advancing all aspects of corporate gifts and sponsorships.

Responsibilities
• Secure major corporate gifts and manage all aspects of relationships with corporate donors
• Develop and implement strategies to cultivate, secure, and steward major corporate partnerships with the goal of securing six-figure, multi-year sponsorships
• Tailor materials, proposals, sponsor packages and activation opportunities to unique priorities of each company
• Manage all communications related to corporate partnerships, internal and external
• Oversee, coordinate and execute all aspects of corporate sponsorship fulfillment
• Develop and maintain corporate database and ensure that all corporate partners are tracked and recognized appropriately
• Provide comprehensive reporting to corporate partners
• Provide support for non-corporate funding efforts including, but not limited to, events, individual donors, private foundations, and government grants


Qualifications
• Proven track record in developing fundraising strategies and securing major support from corporations
• Demonstrated success in securing major corporate sponsorships, experience in the food industry a plus
• Minimum 5 years experience in managing all aspects of sponsorships, regional and national
• Extensive knowledge of corporate giving programs and corporate foundations, knowledge of food industry a plus
• Strong communicator, able to effectively communicate to internal and external audiences
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills
• High degree of initiative with entrepreneurial spirit, able to work independently as part of a team
• Commitment to GFPI’s mission and ability to represent the organization to a variety of audiences
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends
8 Bachelors degree required
