Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Technical lead for the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services Data Base Administration team who enjoys challenges. This position is located in Battle Creek, Mich.
The qualified applicant will lead the Systems and Software Application Support DBA team working supporting all DLA Disposition Services applications. Northrop Grumman is seeking an individual who can lead a team that supports a variety of data management and database administration services and support functions. This includes mid-tier, and PC computing environments.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Represent the team as the senior technical contact on tasks and projects.
* Interact with senior technical personnel and other technical leads on technical and/or customer matters.
* Assists Database manager with the formulation and enforcement of department database policies and workload management
* Meet with customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, and scheduling requirements.
* Implement and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases.
* Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases/provide back up and recovery/make recommendations regarding enhancements/improvements.
* Review database design and integration of systems, maintain security and integrity controls/ may develop stored procedures.
* Provide technical direction to less experienced DBA's.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a technical degree with appropriate additional training or experience in lieu of education.
* 9 years of solid experience as a database administrator/ database architect performing complete software lifecycle support.
* 5 years experience with Oracle database administration.
* Possess active Oracle Certified Professional certification
* Possess Security + certification.
* Solid experience working in a team environment in the Department of Defense.
* Good verbal and written communications skills.
* Applicant must be a US Citizen and must possess the necessary security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
* 3 years experience working as a Database administrator or database architect supporting DLA Disposition Services.
* Domain knowledge of major Oracle applications at DLA Disposition Services preferably 10g/11g.
* Current access and permissions to the DLA Logistics Information Service operating environment and applications.
