Kadant Johnson is seeking a Materials Manager for its Kalamazoo-area operation. This is a full-time, mid-senior level supply chain position in the machinery industry.
Job Description
Kadant Johnson is in need of an experienced, hands-on Materials Manager who will be responsible for managing the process of global procurement by identifying vendors, developing growth strategies, locating and assessing business opportunities (both domestically and internationally) as well as leveraging existing partnerships.
Demonstrated MRP/ERP experience is required as this position is responsible for all aspects (strategic and tactical) of the purchasing, production scheduling and inventory management functions. This position requires travel approximately 5 percent of the time.
Desired Skills and Experience
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 to 6 years of experience in Procurement and/or International Supply Chain Management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong negotiating skills are required. Well-developed leadership skills are necessary, including team orientation, flexibility, integrity, and creativity. The ability to lead and coach a small team of direct reports is necessary.
Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of business processes and issues is required.
