The Paxahau project was conceived and inspired by the underground electronic music scene in Detroit.

Paxahau was formed in 1998, but Jason Huvaere has been organizing electronic events in Detroit since 1993. Paxahau has grown to become one of the city's premier promotions groups for the electronic music industry. Paxahau now includes a record label, booking agency and Web site featuring some of the best archived DJ sets available.

The group has also taken over organizing the massive Detroit Electronic Music Festival, which brings more than 50,000 music fans and dozens of acts downtown for three days.

Paxahau’s employment is flexible, with about 10 people fully engaged year-round, but at the peak of the DEMF, the company employs up to 200 people.
