Kalamazoo-based Zeigler Auto Group is growing and its workforce is expanding to keep pace.

The company says it’s adding more than 200 new jobs in management, sales, finance, accounting, office, IT, internet management, service and parts.

The company reports it is having one of its best years ever, which has allowed it to make aggressive expansion plans.

Aaron Zeigler, president of Zeigler Automotive, says that with about a 30 percent increase in profits the dealership can initiate seven new projects and make a major hiring push. About half the new jobs will be in the Kalamazoo area.

Two new dealerships are planned in Kalamazoo — one 24,000 square feet at west end of its 4201 Stadium Drive property for a newly acquired Honda dealership, and a second, a 23,000 square foot facility just east of the main location for Zeigler Chrysler, Dodge, Ram.

The company expects to be able to boost sales from 12,000 to between 18,000 and 20,000 cars.

Zeigler Auto Group now has 32 franchises in 11 differnt locations, including Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, South Bend and Chicago. The new acquisitions and growth will bring it to 38 franchises in 14 locations.

It will be adding franchises for Chevrolet, Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Honda. And its staff will grow to 850 employees, including 125 new positions in Kalamazoo.

Harold Zeigler is in the top 1 percent of auto dealers nation-wide and was named one of the 101 Best and Brightest Companies To Work For  by the Michigan Business and Professionals Association.
