B.C. Enquirer: Rice Shoes stays put

The shoe retail business that may be the oldest in downtown Battle Creek plans to be around for a long time, reports the Battle Creek Enquirer. The store at 62 W. Michigan Ave. that has been a fixture in the central business district since 1948 has a freshly decorated interior.

With the recent relocation of hundreds of Kellogg Co. employees to the downtown area has come a corresponding rise in foot traffic for the store as a whole.
