Menlo Innovations philosophy is simple: "Do what you love, and the money will follow." It seems to be working well for the Ann Arbor start-up so far.

President, chief executive officer and co-founder of Menlo Innovations, Inc.
When Sheridan and his partners set out to build Menlo Innovations Inc., which makes software for a variety of companies and applications, they wanted to change expectations about software businesses.
With its bright colors, open space, noisy atmosphere and "high-tech" anthropologists, Menlo does just that, he said. For starters, each computer and workspace is shared by two developers. The point is to breed more ideas and productivity by creating more collaboration, he said.
Their mission, as Sheridan puts it: "To end the human suffering in the world caused by poor design."
Business philosophy:
"Do what you love, and the money will follow."
