Online Tech invests $1M in new data center, continues hiring

Online Tech is augmenting its space, staff and bottom line these days thanks to its acquisition of a new data center and a handful of new hires.

The Ann Arbor-based firm recently purchased a new data center just outside of the city. It plans to invest about $1 million into the 20,000-square-foot facility, upgrading its technology and other facilities. It's set to open this month, making it the third data center for the nine-year-old firm.

"We intend to put our cloud customers there," says Yan Ness, CEO of Online Tech.

The data management firm has grown to 25 employees and two interns, up from 20 employees in January. The company also has two sales positions open now and expects to add a few more people over the next year.

"We're in hiring mode," Ness says.
