Ingenex Digital Marketing is making its name in Ann Arbor by helping its clients make their name on the Internet.
The Tree Town-based firm has grown in threes since its founding in 2006. The company now has three employees, three interns and keeps about three independent contractors occupied. It hopes to hire another 2-3 more people soon.
"We keep a lot of people busy," says Derek Mehraban, CEO of Ingenex Digital Marketing. "We get a lot of work and we spread it out to a lot of people."
The company does this by helping other companies get the most bang for their buck when it comes to Internet exposure. Whether that's maximizing the potential of a firm's website or what social websites it should have a presence on.
"Everybody has a website, but we help them hone their message," Mehraban says. "We're going to help people own the Internet in their space."
Interns help make this possible. The firm runs what it calls an Eco-Friendly Internship program that lets its interns do their work four out of five days from their homes. That helps them save on gas and eating costs, but still lets them come into the main office in Ann Arbor to receive valuable on-site experience.
"It's almost like a course," Mehraban says.
