The words "career path" are becoming increasingly important at Dynamic Edge. The Ann Arbor-based IT firm is focusing on creating a training program for its employees that establishes a career path in the company for them within the company.
The 13-year-old firm has been capitalizing on that philosophy over the last year, hiring two former interns as part of its six overall hires. Staffing now stands at 30 employees and two interns as revenues continues to grow. Last year Dynamic Edge increased 26 percent.
"Our goal this year is to match last year," says Bruce McCully, CEO of
Dynamic Edge. "We're likely to see a 30 percent increase."
Part of this growth plan is the switch to fixed-IT work. Last year, Dynamic Edge focused only on customers who subscribed to its fixed IT plan. It expects to grow that client base again this year and leverage that growth to open a new office in Metro Detroit later this year.
Dynamic Edge has also been growing its technology project with Detroit's Cody High School. There the staffers at the IT firm work to help introduce the students to technology and what career paths could be available to them through it. The project has grown significantly over the last year.
"Before it was just us going out there,"
McCully says. "Now we have a set curriculum."
