Nine years ago Bruce McCully saw what so many other techies see everyday: Small businesses not getting enough bang for their buck when it comes to IT services. Like so many others, he decided to capitalize on that and form Dynamic Edge in Ann Arbor.
Today, his business (which he co-owns with Tim Neiman) has grown to 37 people with offices across the U.S. and expectations to hire another half dozen by the end of the year. A new three-person office in Nashville has generated $250,000 in sales within a few weeks. All for businesses looking for reliable IT and website development services. The secret is being able to solve as many of their computing problems as possible.
"You can create a relationship quite well that way," McCully says.
The company started out small and slowly started to build its client base over the first few years. It really started to break out in 2004 when it hit a "critical mass" of customers, according to McCully. It's a trend he hopes the company will continue in the near future as it continues to spread into new communities.
"I would like us to be known as the connection between computer systems and people," McCully says. "A computer concierge of sorts."
