CADcorporation, a simulation technology firm, has spun out its gaming arm, FriendsLearn, a move that has resulted in the creation of 10 new jobs.
CADcorporation got its start a dozen years ago in Ann Arbor. It created FriendsLearn a few years ago when it began experimenting with video games. FriendsLearn helped the University of Michigan Law School create a 3-D video game to help recruit students. CADcorporation spun out FriendsLearn last year after it landed a contract with the U.S. State Dept to create a video game to attract international students to American universities.
"FriendsLearn has its own direction and mission of creating mobile games," says
Bhargav Sri Prakash, founder & CEO of
CADcorporation and
FriendsLearn. "FriendsLearn has created the app that is the face of American education to the world."
FriendsLearn now employs 12 people and three interns, growing from just two people a year ago. FriendsLearn and CADcorporation have also opened satellite offices in India and Silicon Valley.
"We're trying to get closer to some venture capitalist and have some design work done," Sri Prakash says.
