Barracuda Networks is growing so fast it is running out of space at its office on the near north side of Ann Arbor.
The IT firm has added 40 people to is staff over the last year, growing the total to almost 150 and a few interns. That has put constraints on its office space near the Ann Arbor Amtrak station. So much so that the company has moved desks into its lunch room and is looking for newer, bigger digs in Ann Arbor.
"We obviously need more space," says Sean Heiney, director of new product initiatives for
Barracuda Networks. "Our CEO wants to make Ann Arbor a major hub for our research-and-development operations and we're doing that."
Barracuda Networks specializes in providing IT services, creating e-mail and Internet security applications. Heiney says the company has grown significantly each year, and that looks to continue for the foreseeable future because its keeps its products easy to use and affordable.
"We're highly profitable and successful," Heiney says. "We're growing at a phenomenal rate."
