Vertafore Inc., a Bothell, Washington-based company, announced plans to buy Okemos-based
Sircon Corp., a company that provides IT services to the insurance industry.
According to excerpts from the article:
Terms of the deal, expected to close in July, were not disclosed.
Both companies are privately owned.
The move is not expected to affect Sircon's 120 local employees or its Okemos headquarters, spokesman Scott Morrison said.
"Since both Sircon and Vertafore are focused on solving business needs
across the insurance marketplace, we feel this is an extremely positive
move for us and the industry as a whole," Sircon President and Chief
Executive Officer Bob Nero said in a statement.
"Sircon complements Vertafore's current solutions and its strong
presence in the agency and broker markets will drive producer adoption,
which will in turn be especially valuable for carriers."
