NCG to build multi-million dollar Xtreme Screen, expand staff

Something big is happening at NCG Cinemas at Eastwood Towne Center – literally. Construction will soon begin on a more than 70 foot NCG Xtreme Screen that will expand the business’ footprint and bring a whole new kind of movie experience for viewers.

“It is going to be substantially larger than our biggest theater by screen size,” says Patrick O’Boyle, promotion and marking manger for NCG. “When you walk in, there will be no question that you’re in Xtreme Screen.”

The options for what can be viewed on NCG’s own Xtreme Screen are virtually limitless. According to O’Boyle, the screen will be able to display an extra-large version of nearly anything that comes out of Hollywood – or elsewhere.

“If the MSU basketball team is in the Final Four, we can put it up on the screen,” says O’Boyle. “It is a beautiful thing.”

The Eastwood Towne Center location will be the first NCG Xtreme Screen in the region. O’Boyle hopes construction on the new, multi-million dollar auditorium begin built on the east end of the building will be complete by late summer or early fall. He projects anywhere between five and 15 jobs will be added to staff the expanding theater.

“We’re excited,” says O’Boyle. “I can’t wait for it to get here because it something a lot of people haven’t had the change to experience. It’s going to be awesome.”
