Sault Ste. Marie city commission paves way for new industries

New jobs are always a priority for a city commission, and the city of Sault Ste. Marie was not let down by their commissioners as they recently voted to approve some measures that will likely lead to new jobs.

According to the Sault Evening News, the city commission approved tax exemptions in a move to help bring a manufacturer to the area and create new jobs and local spending.

Excerpt from the Sault Evening News:

Aggressive Manufacturing Innovations, Inc (AMI) — which makes rigid metal tubes, flexible pipe and hose assemblies and other products used in fluid handling — is moving quickly to the Sault with the timetable measured in weeks.

City Manager Spencer Nebel said AMI has indicated it will initially hire approximately 45 employees with projections calling for somewhere between 160 and 170 new jobs in the next five years.
