Two Upper Peninsula natives taken in NHL draft

The Upper Peninsula has always been known for some top-quality hockey teams and talent and this year it was proven once again. Two U.P. natives were selected in this year's National Hockey League draft, according to WLUC-TV6.

Two former Marquette Electricians, Justin Florek and Kevin Gravel, were both selected Saturday in the fifth round of the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Florek, 20, a Marquette native who currently plays for Northern Michigan University, was selected by the Boston Bruins with the 15th pick in the round (135 overall) and Gravel, 18, from Iron Mountain, who just completed the season with the Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League, was selected with the 28th pick (148 overall) by the Los Angeles Kings.
