Great Start program put together resource center with $10,000 grant

It's officially unofficial: The CAD class at Bay de Noc College has set the world record for the largest yo-yo in the world.

The Marquette Mining Journal reports that the class is just waiting on official confirmation from the powers that be.

Excerpt: In a well-attended event involving community members and visitors, members of the CAD class dropped their 1,625 pound yo-yo from 100 feet to commandeer the record.

The previous record for the world's largest functioning yo-yo was set by a group of college students from Manchester, England. It was 10 feet tall, five inches in diameter, weighed 896 pounds, and was dropped from a height of 189 feet.
