The U.P. is apparently rich grounds for wildlife research lately. A doctoral student from Mississippi State University is studying the predator and prey relationship in the U.P. with new research on bears, among other native wildlife.

Nathan Svoboda walked a wide arc around her den and quietly approached her from behind. With a needle attached to a telescopic pole, he injected the sow with Telazol, an anesthesia.
