A new law practice has opened its doors in Marquette.
Attorney Michael Doby launched his new practice, which specializes in cases involving debt collection, consumer rights, family law and criminal defense.
Doby says he enjoys focusing on debt collection abuse cases, defending clients who are being harassed by debt collectors in violation of state or federal laws.
"When people fall behind on their payments it is a difficult and stressful time. Often they do not know that federal law protects them from the abusive tactics that debt collectors use," he says.
Doby offers free case evaluations to help clients determine what kind of case they might have. He is a graduate of Northern Michigan University and Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and during law school spent time as an intern in Marquette's family court under former Judge Michael Anderegg.
