Avant Garde hair show benefits St. Clair County girls

Fun and fantasy fill the day at the Avant Garde Hair Show.
Nothing is better than feeling good and looking great.

Strong beautiful women with amazing hairstyles will be featured during the Avant Garde Hair Show Nov. 3, supporting A Beautiful Me.

Experience a plethora of hair inspiration and creativity to the theme of “Superheroes. Who is YOUR superhero?” Through Talented hair designers will showcase their skills at the Avant Garde Hair Show benefitting A Beautiful Me.elaborate, creative designs adorning everyday women, the runway show showcases the usage of human hair and extensions to representing this year's theme. Additional participants on the runway will be past youth participants sharing the impact of A Beautiful Me workshops.

All proceeds from this family-friendly event provide local third through 12th-grade girls the opportunity to attend A Beautiful Me’s original and interactive self-esteem workshops. Since 2008, more than 9,000 girls have grown their self-worth through original workshops, programs, and events.

New this year, Paul Mitchell the School Cosmetology students will prepare their models and walk the runway. This pushes students to embrace a creative edge outside traditional haircuts and color.

"For the past two years we have sold out with 500 people attending the event,” A Beautiful Me Executive Director, Karen Palka says. “The word is getting out about the intricate designs these stylists showcase and how the revenue supports local girls. Together we are building self-worth proactively in our next generation of confident women.”
