Excerpt:

Visitors from other states are discovering this small gem that has been, until recently, one of the best kept secrets in the Midwest.

Attractions: The major attraction in St. Joseph is that humongous body of water in its front yard known as Lake Michigan. The city is built on a bluff that overlooks the lake, creating a breathtaking backdrop for some of the city's attractions, and center stage for others, such as Silver Beach, Jean Klock Park, Lions Park and Silver Beach Center. The St. Joseph lighthouse appeals to visitors' sense of history. Companies offer boat charters and canoe rentals. Local wineries have mapped the Southwest Michigan Wine Trail through vineyards and wineries that can be self-guided, or taken via guided transportation. The Southwest Michigan Antique Trail is mapped for antiquers to shop at their own pace.
