A 20-acre piece of property with woods, a creek and 700 feet of Lake Michigan frontage may become an undeveloped public park in South Haven Township.
The Herald-Palladium reports the former Pilgrim Haven church camp was owned by the late Suzanne Upjohn DeLano Parish, who died last year. Representatives of her estate have been discussing ways to keep the property free from development and open to the public, in keeping with her wishes.

A partnership between the land conservancy and the (South Haven Area) recreation authority would be ideal for the property, said land conservancy Executive Director Peter Ter Louw.
"The trust is still settling the estate, but the conservancy is involved with the trust," Ter Louw said Thursday. "This is the only Lake Michigan property that may be an outright gift to the conservancy. We would love to be able to partner with local government to share this with the public."
