A cottonwood tree in rural northern Michigan is the subject of curiosity since it's been determined it's the biggest of its kind in the state.
Excerpt: A piece of land is for sale in Emmet County for approximately $1.15 million, which features an enormous tree featured in the record books.
According to Andy Sawyer, volunteer Big Tree Coordinator for the Michigan Big Tree Register, the eastern cottonwood tree is currently the state champion, or the largest eastern cottonwood tree in the state, based on measurements collected in 2012.
