Excerpt: As downtown Traverse City continues to boast record low retail vacancy rates, some business owners are literally looking up and down to find ways to expand their retail and restaurant spaces.
According to a recent Downtown Development Authority (DDA) report by Executive Director Rob Bacigalupi, vacancy rates have hovered between 1 and 3.4 percent downtown over the last year – significantly below the national average of 6.5 percent.
