Patients in Frankfort and the surrounding area who are in need of seeing an audiologist from Munson Medical Center are getting some great news--their hearing clinic is now located in
Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital. The change means patients will no longer need to visit the portable clinic fan to see visiting audiologists.
The move will be much more convenient for patients, who will be able to visit the clinic on Wednesdays.
"We will be providing comprehensive hearing evaluations for all ages, as well as dispensing and fitting for hearing aids," says audiologist Paul Wilsens.
The hospital's hearing clinic offers complete hearing testing and the latest in digital hearing aid technology from several manufacturers at a competitive price.
Hearing loss is something that often occurs without a person realizing their condition.
"One comment we hear a lot is, 'I hear fine, except in a restaurant or party where there is a lot of background noise,'" Wilsens says. "Not being able to distinguish words from background noise is a common indicator of some hearing loss."
All Munson audiologists hold doctoral degrees and have completed extensive training in hearing assessment, hearing aid evaluation, and fitting procedures.
