Midland Young Professionals (MYPros), a program of the
Midland Business Alliance (MBA), is excited to launch the 2025 MYPros Community Crowdfund, an initiative designed to make a significant economic impact in Midland County while actively engaging young professionals.
A single business will receive up to $60,000 in funding for the first time in the Crowdfund's history. The funds will be raised through community contributions and matching funds. The volume of impact for one business makes this the most focused and high-impact MYPros Community Crowdfund to date.
How it works
Eligible businesses can apply through April 15 for a chance to be selected as the sole recipient of this transformative funding. A new pitch competition format will enhance the selection process:
- The MYPros Crowdfunding Subcommittee will choose three finalists.
- These finalists will pitch their projects to MYPros members at a scheduled networking event.
- MYPros members attending the event will vote to determine the final business that will participate in the crowdfunding campaign.
To ensure all finalists benefit, the runner-up will receive $3,000, and the third-place finalist will receive $2,000 in funding.
Key dates
- Application Deadline: April 15, 2025
- Finalists Announced: June 2025
- Pitch Competition & Selection: June 2025
- Crowdfunding Campaign: Aug. 2025
Proven impact
Since its inception in 2019, the MYPros Community Crowdfund has generated over $210,000 in economic impact, helping businesses like Allied Group Fitness, Proper Taco, Pizza Baker, Aviator Cookie Company, Grove Tea Lounge, Aster, Nor’East Outdoors, and Three Bridges Distillery & Taproom grow and thrive.
Empowering local businesses
The MYPros Community Crowdfund provides a unique opportunity for businesses to raise funds from the community. These funds are then matched through Midland Business Alliance’s partnership with the Midland Area Community Foundation. The chosen business will raise $25,000 in community contributions, which will be matched with $35,000, unlocking up to $60,000 in funding. The MYPros Crowdfunding Subcommittee will actively work to assist businesses in building out and executing their campaigns.
Applicants must:
- Be a Midland Business Alliance (MBA) member or willing to join upon selection.
- Be a for-profit business.
- Propose a specific project that enhances the community through placemaking, expands services, or contributes to local economic growth.
