Dow Gardens closes playground Misty Barron
On Monday, Aug, 19, Dow Gardens permanently closed its playground. The decision was made to restore the area to a more natural state. Although they did not want to remove the playground, it was necessary due to safety concerns. The playground was located in a lowland area with a high water table, which led to ongoing maintenance challenges and structural issues.
Many Midland residents have since voiced their disappointment over the decision. However, a recent trip to Dow Gardens and Whiting Forest shows there is still plenty of fun to be had.
