What comes to mind when you think of personal or professional development? Another podcast? Another seminar? Another book with no follow-up? The team at
Lead knows there’s a better way to create lasting change. They’re here to help you tap into your potential with practical programs, events, tools and resources that make a real difference.
Founded in 2018 as Self Love Beauty, the organization has rebranded to reflect its mission to “Empower people with practical tools to become their most confident self.” Originally focused on building self-esteem in teens,
Lead has since expanded to serve adults, families, and organizations in the region.
More than development - It’s transformation
Organizations interested in boosting employee well-being can partner with Lead for tailored, interactive workshops. Whether your team needs help with goal-setting, resilience, self-care, finding purpose, and more, the knowledgeable staff at Lead is ready to create a personalized experience. The goal is simple: help individuals and teams build the confidence that is needed to foster lasting change.
The upcoming Lead Within workshop series offers a deep dive into building self-confidence, leadership skills, and emotional resilience. Thanks to sponsors like
MyMidMichigan Health and
Huntington, this series kicks off in October. But don't wait - Sept, 30 is the last day to register! Participants will not only learn in-person but also receive a year-long membership with access to a wealth of online resources to continue their growth journey.
If self-paced is more your speed, you'll want to check out the organization's membership opportunities. Being a member will give you resources and tools to help with goal setting, core values, limiting beliefs, finding purpose, confidence, self-esteem, self-care and more! Memberships are available on a monthly or yearly basis.
LeadKelsey SnyderMore than mental health
“When people think about personal development, they often think only of mental health,” says Kelsey Snyder, Director of Programs at
Lead. “But it’s more than that. it’s about building your mental health capacity. People are struggling and having the right tools is so important.”
Snyder emphasizes that their approach isn’t about simply checking boxes. “Life ebbs and flows. It’s about having the resources to come back to when you need them.”
Empowering youth and families
Beyond professional workshops, Lead continues its original mission by working with teens in the intermediate school districts, alternative high schools, and juvenile detention centers to help students build soft skills such as resilience and self-esteem.
Families can also get involved through Lead’s special events, like mother-son, father-daughter, and mother-daughter STEM workshops. These fun and exciting events bring families together to explore STEM projects while building confidence through hands-on activities. As Snyder says, “If you try something, fail, and try again, that’s how you build confidence.”
How to get involved
Lead is funded by local grants and fundraising activities. You can support their mission by participating in events like their upcoming fundraiser, Lead with Impact, at the Midland Country Club on Oct. 18. Enjoy a night out, knowing that you are making a difference. You will hear from inspirational leader Vince Agnew, a former pro athlete, journalist, and entrepreneur. The event will include dinner, cocktails, a silent auction, and a live auction.
