Bay City will install new smart water meters

In a few years, there'll be no excuse for not saving water and electrical energy in Bay City, as new "smart meters" will have the city doing its part to cut costs.

Excerpt: By 2014, Bay City officials will install 35,000 new “smart meters” to replace the existing water and electrical meters in city households.

The Bay City Commission today approved the $6.8 million upgrade to its system.
