Undocumented immigrant children might be a contentious issue on the national scene, but quietly, people like those in Bay City are stepping up to take care of the children who arrive unaccompanied.
Excerpt: Days after the Bay City Commission passed a symbolic resolution welcoming 24 undocumented immigrant children from Central America, Wellspring Lutheran Services officials have confirmed they have arrived.
David Gehm, CEO of Wellspring, confirmed to the Times that the children and teens, who range in age from 6- to 13-years-old, are now being cared for at the nonprofit's Bay City location, 304 N. Tuscola Road.
