It's not that hard to go green.
Several schools in the Plymouth-Canton and Northville school
districts were honored with Michigan Green Schools Recognition Award
recently for their efforts to conserve energy and promote the
environment, said Wayne County Commissioner Laura Cox.
The awards were handed out May 3, at Wayne County RESA
(Regional Educational Service Agency) in Wayne.
In order to become recognized as a Michigan Green School, a school
must meet at least 10 of the 20 Points of Energy and Environmental
Savings Activities designated by the Michigan Green Schools. Silver
Springs Elementary in Northville attained 15 of the 20 points and was
given Emerald status.
