Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with opening remarks by Maureen Krauss, Director of Oakland County Economic Development & Community Affairs. Afternoon sessions include learning how home builders, the film industry, local produce growers and vendors, the architectural community, non-profits and business models adapt to change. The conference will include an announcement of new Main Street Oakland County communities, a history and tour of the Crofoot, and walking tours of downtown Pontiac. In addition, the annual Heritage Awards will be presented to individuals who have provided outstanding service to Oakland County's preservation efforts. The conference will contain a luncheon and will conclude at 4:00 p.m.
The conference brings together individuals from various backgrounds, who deal with the built and natural environment, to discuss ways to improve their communities. The conference attracts local and regional governmental staff, elected officials, developers, architects, realtors, consultants, and small business owners as well as representatives from environmental and historical interests.
Attending professional planners can receive 2 AICP continuing education credits.
The conference is sponsored by Oakland County Planning & Economic Development Services, DTE Energy, Oakland County Parks, West Construction Services and Carbon Credit Environmental Services.
