Lawrence Technological University students majoring in architecture and construction are getting experience in restoring a house... but just not any house... a Frank Lloyd Wright house.

Restoring a house can be backbreaking work.
But when the work in question involves painstakingly refinishing tidewater cypress siding in a 2,350-square-foot Frank Lloyd Wright home -- well, that was a different story for two Lawrence Tech University students.
"Now I can go on a job interview and say not only have I restored a Frank Lloyd Wright home, but I did it myself," said Justin Butler, 23, a senior from Farmington Hills, as he stood on deck of the house tucked inside a secluded woods.
"We're getting real-world construction experience, not just theoretical."
Butler and Doug Metiva, 25, also of Farmington Hills, are majoring in architecture and construction management. They're participating in a work-study program through the architecture and design department at the university, and were assigned the job to restore the Affleck House, built in 1940.
