Troy-based Automation Alley has invested $350,000 in two Southeastern Michigan technology firms to help them develop their technologies and grow their businesses.

Wixom-based Ventech L.L.C. was awarded $250,000. It makes and distributes rapid heat solutions for the transportation, heavy-duty, emergency, off-road and military markets.

Its flagship product quickly heats the interior of school buses, reducing idling time and fuel consumption.

Farmington Hills-based Critical Signals Technologies Inc. was awarded $100,000. It provides monitoring equipment and services for emergency and first responders. It previously received seed funding of $450,000 from Automation Alley.
