First-class Italian dining comes to Rochester

Benny Bezhi, the new owner of Rochester's Fortesa, is originally from Albania. But he says Rochester reminds him of Europe. And in the former home of the Europa Bistro, Bezhi's new 6,000 sq. ft eatery offers visitors a la carte food service, patio seating and a heated deck that overlooks Paint Creek.

Bezhi, who managed restaurants in New York for a time, also ran Birmingham's Midtown Cafe, as well as a pizzeria in Metro Detroit. The interior was designed by Ron Rea.

Excerpt:

Bezhi said he was aiming for "first-class ambiance," a "wow" factor, good food and pricing that would keep people coming back.

"I want my customers to come at least twice a week," he said. "I believe this place can do very well because I know my prices are very reasonable."

Fortesa Restaurant is located at 543 Main Street in downtown Rochester. Read the rest of the article here.
