The Staffing Company plans to double staff

The Staffing Company tries to make hiring as painless as possible for its client businesses, and accomplishes this through fresh ways to make these hires work out.

The Bloomfield Hills-based firm doesn't charge any upfront or backend fees to its clients. If a client wants to hire one of The Staffing Company's recommended people, The Staffing Company puts that person on their payroll and sends them to work at the client company. The client business pays the salary for the employee and a premium for the service. If the match doesn't work out, then the employee and the unemployment benefits responsibility falls on The Staffing Company.

"We created a unique model for this economy," says Judy Perry, director of business development for The Staffing Company. "We not only go with skill set but with personality. We find the right personality to fit in the culture of the business."

The 2-year-old firm started with a staff of two. It now has three employees and 55 people on its payroll. It expects to double in size over the next year as more and more people take advantage of its services.

"We're busy and the way the economy is going, this is just working," Perry says.
