Microsoft certification positions Ferndale's Tener for growth

Achieving Gold Certified Partner status in the Microsoft Partner Program was no picnic for Tener Technologies, LLC. "It was quite a bit of work. But it sets us apart from anyone who just starts a computer company," says founder and President Brian Tenerowicz.

"With certification, we can be more marketable, attract more clients and need more technicians," he adds. The company has added three employees in the last 18 months and they anticipate adding more.

Tenerowicz started his company in 2000 to meet the demand for IT services for small and mid-sized companies. While larger companies can afford full-time IT help, "a lot of small companies are relying on a nephew or a friend of a friend's kid. And that can be an issue sometimes," he says.

The company, which sells hardware and software and provides support for networks as well as individual computers and servers, currently has a staff of six.  Their expertise includes all Windows, Linux, Novell and Macintosh operating systems.

Its Ferndale base has worked out well for the company. "It's very friendly, the Chamber Commerce has been great. It's really easy to do business here," says Tenerowicz.
