Qualigence International adds 12 staff, looks to hire 9 more

Qualigence International is riding high on the economic uptick, watching its revenue jump by double digits and its staff spike by more than a dozen people.

The Livonia-based staffing firm specializes in recruitment research and professional searches. It has watched its revenue grow by 22 percent over the last year, which has allowed the firm to hire 12 people in that time. It now has a staff of 44 employees and the occasional intern.

Behind that growth is the general uptick in the economy and Qualigence International's move toward doing more marketing of its services. "Between the two of those, they are driving some pretty significant growth," says Stephen Lowisz, CEO of Qualigence International.

The 14-year-old company is currently looking to hire nine people. Those jobs range from research analyst to business development professionals. Lowisz expects that sort of hiring to continue as the firm keeps growing. It is currently on pace to repeat its revenue growth this year but wants to keep that sort of expansion under control.

"We don't want to grow too fast because it becomes too difficult to manage," Lowisz says.
