United Solar Ovonic LLC is continuing its work with the United States Air Force Research Laboratory, landing a multi-million dollar contract to develop new solar cell technologies.

The $9.1 million contract with the Lab, located on the Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, will see the Auburn Hills company working on new solar cell technology that will be used in both spacecrafts and high-altitude airships This continues the history of the two companies, which have been working together since 2003.
