Last year was filled with a few hiccups in the pharmaceutical industry, such as regulatory issues that slowed down business in the sector. That meant a flat year for pharma-centric firms like
JB Ashtin Group.
However, things began to move forward in 2012, allowing the pharmaceutical communications business to sign up new clients and add more staff. The Plymouth-based company has hired three people, including a director of strategy and innovation, a medical writer and a project assistant. The firm is also looking to hire two more people in scientific services now and a few more later on this year.
"2012 has improved quite significantly," says Joni Bradley, president of JB Ashtin Group. "As a result, we are looking to hire six people."
So far this year, JB Ashtin Group has signed on two new clients. Those include Abbott Point-of-Care and Baxter Healthcare. Bradley wants to sign 2-3 more clients this year and expand the firm's offerings to include more business in digital communications.
