Automation Alley sprawls into Macomb County, opens Mt. Clemens office

Automation Alley is spreading out through Metro Detroit and opening a satellite office in Mt. Clemens.

The new office will be in Macomb County’s Administration Building and is meant to help spur more economic growth on the metro area's east side. Sharon Blumeno, a senior business development executive for Automation Alley, will staff the office on the building's eighth floor.

Automation Alley is one of the major institutions driving new economy growth in southeast Michigan. It focuses on workforce and business development efforts for companies of all shapes and sizes. More than 875 businesses, educational institutions and government entities have joined Automation Alley since its founding in 1999, including Macomb County in 2003.

"It's a tremendous advantage to Macomb County," says Stephen Cassin, executive director of planning and economic development for Macomb County.
