Warren is looking for developers to build its new downtown. The city has put out a request for statement of qualifications for developers interested in building on the 17.5 acres surrounding the new city hall and library.
Warren is working toward building a traditional downtown in the area of Van Dyke Avenue and Common Road. The project includes a new city hall, library and year-round park, which are complete. The city is now looking to facilitate commercial and residential development in the area. "What we’re looking for is high-density mixed-use development," said Gina Cavaliere, DDA director for Warren.
City leaders are keeping an open mind on whether to build office, commercial or residential space in the area. The city will put together a short list of developers in the coming weeks and review development proposals.
Developer applications are due by Feb. 21. For information, visit
