Phase one, complete construction on the first three units of The Oaks of Wyandotte condominiums in downtown. Done.
Phase two, sell them. Working on it.
Like so many of the condo projects across Metro Detroit not named Book Cadillac, the 13 townhouse development is fighting for sales in a brutal market for condos. To help move the units, the developer is offering options like lease to own and open to ideas to get residents into the homes.
The Oaks' townhouses are located at the corner of Oak and 2nd Streets near downtown and the Detroit River. All of the units have between two and three bedrooms, 1.5 to 3 bathrooms and a two-car attached garage each. They range in size from 1,700 square feet to 2,100 square feet. Prices range from $179,000 to $229,000.
"The product is great and is in an ideal location," says says Linda Perry, president of Wyandotte-based Rivertown Construction, the company behind the $2.6-million project.
The second phase of the project will begin when most of the first phase of the project is complete.
