Pontiac is putting a call out to all developers near and far: There are opportunities to be had in the city's downtown.
To get this across the city's downtown development authority is hosting a "Developers Showcase" of properties for sale, lease or development, in its downtown loop. The showcase will be held on May 28 and May 29 and will include a tour of possible projects.
It will display improvements to the city's infrastructure, properties and image over the last five years. An inventory of available properties and underutilized buildings that are for sale or lease will also be a featured attraction at the showcase.
The event will demonstrate how Pontiac's core is one of the best examples of a traditional downtown in Metro Detroit. Among its attributes are historic architecture, a walkable environment and its booming entertainment district.
Local property owners, business leaders, realtors, city officials and financial institutions will be on hand to explain how someone looking to become a stakeholder in downtown Pontiac can take advantage of incentives, such as brownfield, EDC loans and parking discounts.
The showcase's 45-minute tours will be held between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on both days. They will start at the Crofoot Building, 1 S. Saginaw St. The free event is open to anyone interested in investing in downtown Pontiac.
For information on the tour, contact the Pontiac Downtown Development Authority at smcdonald@pontiac.mi.us or at (248) 758-3935.
