Work nearly complete to Booth Park in downtown Birmingham

Nearly 98 percent of the Booth Park improvement project in downtown Birmingham is complete.

The city is waiting for some of the grass to take root and to finish some work on the amphitheater before opening all of it up to the public. The city expects to finish all work by the end of May if not earlier.

The playground portion has already been opened up and is being enjoyed by the public.

"It’s just become a destination point for parents and their kids," says Bob Fox, assistant director of public services for Birmingham. "It’s just a beehive of activity."

The park is located on North Old Woodward Avenue on the north side of downtown Birmingham.
