Mark Twain once said, “In the spring, I have counted 136 different kinds of weather inside of 24 hours.” I think he must have visited West Michigan. We’ll welcome spring this month, as well as scores of events planned by communities, libraries, museums, and more. Of course, there are several events celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Do you have a princess in the family? You might want to check out the storybook dinner. Want to spend time outdoors? There are plenty of park activities, including maple sugar time in Holland. March is Women’s History Month, bringing stories of trailblazing women in the military, a woman who helped European Jews and intellectuals escape the Nazis, and a U.S. Army Nurse Corps officer who was held prisoner by the Japanese during World War II. There are also the usuals — movies, art exhibits, dances, nature, comedy, arts and crafts, and plenty of music. March offers a wide variety of things to do in Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. This list includes options for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or interest.
