JR Automation — a designer, builder, and integrator of advanced automation solutions globally — is investing $9.9 million in expanding its operations in the city of Holland.
The company is entering into a long-term lease at the facility at 40 E. 64th St. in Holland, where it will expand operations. This project is expected to create 140 new jobs in West Michigan.
Lakeshore Advantage, the economic development organization that assists employers with growth opportunities in Ottawa and Allegan counties, connected the company with local and state resources to support this project.

Instrumental partners
Other instrumental partners are the city of Holland, West Michigan Works!, and the MEDC, which is supporting this project with almost $2.4 million in state incentives from the Michigan Business Development Program and the State Education Tax Abatement.

The city of Holland is providing backing for the expansion in the form of a 12-year Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption.
“The city of Holland is excited to support JR Automation in this reuse of this facility on 64th Street,” says Holland Mayor Nathan Bocks. “JR Automation is a critical and primary employer in our region, so their expansion and investment in more jobs is a reason to celebrate.”
