Feel the summer 'zeel' with the 2023 Soundz of Summer Concert Series at Lawrence Park

Zeeland’s popular outdoor summer concert series Soundz of Summer is returning to the Lawrence Park Bowl.

The free concert series runs Tuesdays from July 11 through Aug. 1.

“It has really caught on over the years,” says Zeeland City Manager Tim Klunder. “It gives a very intimate setting even though it is outdoors. … It’s a nice way to enjoy a summer evening.”

The renovated Lawrence Park Bowl amphitheater is a popular spot for entertainment, weddings, and numerous other events. The park is located at 100 W. Lawrence Ave.

Sponsors of this summer’s concert series are Royal Park Place and Royal Atrium Inn, Holland Area Arts Council, and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.

Music begins at 6:30 p.m. and continues until 8 p.m. The Lawrence Street Park also has a play area, tennis courts, and a small ball field.

Klunder has a little advice for concertgoers.

“Get there earlier if you want a seat down in the bowl with the shade,” he says, “but anytime you get there, there’s always room for everyone.”

Attendees can enjoy live music in the seating of the Lawrence Street Park amphitheater, but personal chairs and blankets are also encouraged, organizers say.
